Regulations

In general terms, Regulations are regarded as the entire regulations issued by a public authority while it exercises its regulatory powers, as recognised by Law. Such regulations are of a lower status than and subordinate to Acts. Depending on their effects, we may class them as legal or regulatory properly speaking, and administrative or organisational for the authority itself.

This section features over 300 regulations issued by Barcelona City Council, from 1842 to the present day. It is an itinerary through the executive action of the various municipal governments.

Efforts have been made to digitise those that only existed in hard copy, to shed more light on them, and help publicise and make them known further afield. Abolished and current regulations are also presented.

This section lets you discover all the regulations in the General Library's collection, abolished and current, by providing access according to subject, though you can also enter the CBAB Catalogue and search for any metadata of bibliographic description: title, year, subject matter, etc.
