What is RSS

RSS means Really Simple Syndication. RSS is nothing more than a form of contents distribution which identifies the most important parts of a news item, such as a the title or start of an item.

By using an RSS reader or add-on , users can register with a publication and see, whenever they are connected to the reader, whether there are new contents and they can take a quick look at the basic information, before accessing a whole item published on the web. RSS readers and add-ons not only allow single publications to be read but also facilitate registrations on thousands of webs and blogs of every kind.
