CBAB Catalogue

Is the joint catalogue of the General Library, the other specialist libraries and Council department collections. It includes all the documents, in every format, these libraries have, with the aim of making them known to everyone and allowing them to be consulted quickly. It is a tool for rationalising, disseminating and maximising the use of the information resources the City Council has and it includes an increasing amount of e-resources.

Apart from allowing searches, once Council staff identify themselves, the system lets them manage their own borrowing and create an interest profile, so they are kept informed of the constant flow of new additions. It also allows searches outside the catalogue itself, checking the catalogues of other libraries and search engines like Google, without leaving the system.
