The other invisible ones

Performance by Eulàlia Valldosera

What’s the relation between a painter and his or her model?  Is the model affected by the fact of being portrayed, projected or even misinterpreted by the artist’s action? Can we awaken the memory of an object?  Is there life captured in an image?

In a self-hypnosis exercise, I will offer my voice to one of the Museum’s paintings: a portrait of Jacqueline. Turning my body into an antenna I will access the recordings that the image memorized of its author and his model and lover.

Eulàlia Valldosera. Vilafranca del Penedès, 1963. I focus on what is unfamiliar, in what is rejected in daily life, in the intermediate spaces, on the frame of the being who seeks to unite its fragments in a narration that gives sense and feeling to the place that it occupies in the dark part of the collective fabric.  National Prize of Plastic Arts of the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2002, I have participated in several international exhibitions and biennials, such as Istanbul, Manifesta, Paris Biennial of Image, Venice, Sao Paulo, Sydney and the Skulptur Project of Munster. In 2009, a retrospective exhibition was held of my work in the Museo Reina Sofía.
