Day and Night of the museums

From 15th to 18th May we will be holding two special events in the cultural calendar: The Night of the Museums and the International Museum Day.

The Museum will be offering an open doors day on Saturday 15th May, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm, on Sunday 16th May, from 10.00am to 8.00pm, and Tuesday 18th May, from 10.00am to 8.00pm. In addition to being able to enjoy free access to the collection and temporary exhibition «JAMAIS. Óscar Domínguez & Pablo Picasso», the public will also be able to participate in an activity that we have prepared in the rooms of the collection: «Putting Picasso to Music».

Putting Picasso to Music

Young composers from the Department of Composition of the Conservatori del Liceu have created musical works based on the paintings of the collection of the Museu Picasso.

How do today’s artists perceive Picasso’s legacy? How do the visual arts and music dialogue?

To avoid congestion, this is an online proposal based on QR codes:

1 – Look for the 9 works of the permanent collection identified with the QR code.

2 – Scan the QR with your mobile.

3 – Watch the video and with earphones, listen to the music.

The works are performed by students from the Department of Chamber Music of the Conservatori del Liceu.
