«Cravan vs Cravan»: roundtable and projection

Debate around the doubts and certainties about Arthur Cravan, with the projection of the film Cravan vs Cravan, directed by Isaki Lacuesta in 2002.

In 2002 Isaki Lacuesta presented his first film, a very personal documentary starring Frank Nikotra, artist and boxer, that traces the story of Arthur Cravan. The film includes interventions from artists, critics and creators such as Maria Lluïsa Borràs, Victor Nubla, Bernard Heidsieck, Enric Casasses, Carles Hac Mor and Perejaume, amongst others, about the poet and boxer, and also recreates some moments of his stay in Catalonia, such as the excursion to Tossa.  With a mix of fiction, poetry and documentary, the film poses more doubts than certainties, to the extent that many spectators assume that the character had never existed.

First there will be a roundtable with Isaki Lacuesta (cinema director), Erich Weiss (art critic and artist) and Aitor Quiney (doctor in Art History and conservator of the Library of Catalonia), moderated by Emmanuel Guigon (director of the Museu Picasso of Barcelona and curator of the exhibition Arthur Cravan. Maintenant?). Afterwards, the film Cravan vs Cravan will be projected (Isaki Lacuesta, 2002, 109 min).

Participants: Isaki Lacuesta, Erich Weiss, Aitor Quiney and Emmanuel Guigon.
