«Cravan Constellation: Mina Loy, Olga Sacharoff, Otho Lloyd, Francis Picabia»

Session of actions

This session aims to explore the creative and personal constellation of Cravan by means of proposals expressly designed by young artists and poets who have rethought the text and performance from a very personal viewpoint.

In 1915 Arthur Cravan arrived in Barcelona with his brother Otho Lloyd and Olga Sacharoff, Lloyd's wife. In the city and also in Tossa he coincided with other artists, such as Francis Picabia. After Barcelona, Cravan set off for New York, where he would meet Mina Loy, the love of his life. On finding out that they were expecting a child, they decided to go and live in Buenos Aires: she went by train and he went by sea.  But the Atlantic swallowed up the almost two metres tall Cravan and he lost his way forever, leaving behind a legend and a whole network of artistic friendships and complicities. This session aims to review this creative and personal constellation of Cravan through proposals specifically designed by young artists and poets who have rethought the text and performance from a very personal viewpoint. One way to connect, again, Cravan with the emerging creation of the city that saw him fight in the Monumental bullring. Each of the creators will base their work on one of the characters in this constellation to develop their piece.

Participants: Anna Dot, Laia Estruch, Laura Llaneli, Clàudia Pagès and Maria Sevilla.
