Configured as an autonomous body to manage and direct the administration ofmunicipal markets, the IMMB under the auspices of the City Council regarding approvalof bylaws, appointment of officials, establishment and abolition of markets and approvalof major projects.
The IMMB has two fundamental tools for the modernization of markets: the newMunicipal and new management models. A modernization that goes throughimprovement of service markets, maintaining the share trading, management ofdiversity and unification of trade regulation.

So, the performance of the IMMB focuses on three areas: infrastructure and improveservices, upgrade the commercial offer and join trade promotion policies.

Not forgetting that management requires a new market model for the XXI century,adaptation to the market environment and the recovery of the role of civic cohesionmarkets.
