Barceloneta

Up until very recently, this beach gave its name to the stretch of coastline running from Sant Miquel beach to the Marina pier. Since recovering the name of Somorrostro beach, Barceloneta beach now runs from the Gas jetty, which is also known as Ginebra Jetty, and the aforementioned Sant Miquel beach. It is 422 metres long and is one of the oldest beaches with the longest tradition in the city. It is one of the beaches preferred by foreigners, leisure groups and schools, who often go there for activities. There are a few arcades facing away from the sea, in which you find the Sea Space, an environmental education facilities area for facilitating access to the beach and the marine environment and promoting environmental education on the coastline by boosting the inclusive practice of sport and leisure.
