Barcelona, like all cities in the world, is a sound landscape.
People, shops, businesses, traffic and animal biodiversity are all sources of sounds and noise that characterise urban environments.
In recent years, the sensitivity of all citizens to noise has been increasing, which is why the Barcelona City Council is making an effort to improve the city's acoustic quality by executing a wide range of initiatives. These efforts are framed by the Strategic Noise Map and the Plan to Reduce Sound Pollution.
We all generate noise and we can all also contribute to reducing it.
