The Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix is here and from 9 to 12 May you will be able to hear the roar of F1 in the Jardinets de Gràcia.
That is thanks to the BCN Fan Fest, an open-air festival designed for all ages but with motor sport fans and professionals particularly in mind.
Here, between 10 am and 10 pm, you will have a chance to visit the Showcar, with F1 replicas ranging from Ferraris to McGregors. A special occasion for enjoying the design of these really special cars.
Besides the Showcar there will also be a whole series of leisure activities, the pick of which is a race simulator, which allows participants to experience the thrill of speed in an F1 race.
The BCN Fan Fest 2013 will have an area set aside for kids too, so they can have their first contact with racing cars. Hot Wheels are setting up a special zone where 4 to 12-year-olds will be able to play at being their favourite drivers.
The festival will also have an exhibition area where sponsors and organisers will be able to show off their products.
Barcelona City Council will have a stand to explain the city's approach to sport and inform the public about the X Games Barcelona 2013, starting on 16 May, and the World Swimming Championships, taking place from 19 July to 4 August.
The BCN Fan Fest is a good opportunity to bring Formula 1 closer to the public, a sport that is constantly gaining in popularity and closely tied to the history of the city and the country.
In fact, motor racing has been traditionally linked to the city, first at the Pedralbes circuit, then Montjuïc and now at the Circuit de Catalunya. Formula 1 is a sport that transmits values such as perseverance, strategy, teamwork, effort, comradery and collaboration.
