13th Llibreter Prize 2012

Germans gairebé bessons, by M. Mercè Cuartiella (Barcelona, 1964), has won the thirteenth edition of the Llibreter Prize. Published by Brau Edicions, the novel revolves around the unhealthy relationship between two siblings, Joan and Esther, who share secrets and ghosts from the past.

A dalt tot està tranquil (published in English as The Twin) won the award in the Best Foreign Novel category. Written using a direct style, the novel depicts, both amusingly and movingly, the life of a lonely farmer, Helmer, and invites readers to ask themselves why they make the decisions they do.

Fabrizio Silei and Maurizio A.C. Quarello's El autobús de la Rosa won the prize in the Illustrated Album category. The book is about an African-American who takes his grandson to see the bus where Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man in 1955.

is an online favourites manager where each user can store, classify and share links that interest them. It also lets them categorise bookmarks with a labelling system.
Google Bookmarks
is a service that lets users save bookmarks in a Google account. It allows users an opportunity to add notes and labels.
El meu Yahoo!
is a service that lets users create a customised home page that includes a search function, email, news and any information users can configure.
MSN Reporter
a participatory service that lets users with Windows Live - i.e. users registered with Messenger, Hotmail, Spaces and other Microsoft services - publish, comment on and promote news items.
La Tafanera
a Catalan-language portal for promoting news and blog notes that users can send and vote on for promotion to the home page.
