• The City Council puts the Basic Emergency Plan for Waves on alert

  

  Prevention. In light of weather forecasts suggesting waves along the coast could reach a height of over 2.5 metres, Municipal Civil Protection has activated the basic prevention plan.It is recommended that citizens take extra care and try to avoid coastal areas.

• Montse Gràcia receives the Women and Sports Award for sports promotion

  

  Sport. The ex-basketball player is one of the pioneers of adapted sports and has received the Mireia Tapiador award. The tennis legend Carmen Perea and the documentary 'Encordades' have also been recognised with a Women and Sports Award.

• The Red Cross in Catalonia sends 21 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Syria

  

  Human rights. The solidarity shipment, worth 70,000 euros, has been paid for by the city councils of Barcelona, Tarragona and Terrassa.

• A total of 34 projects to bolster land sites under the "Buits" plan
