We are hosting Barcelona Poetry with "Promenade Santos"

Promenade Santos

Display of voices and music in homage to Carles Santos

In 1985 Carles Santos produced Promenade concert, a musical action for trumpets, trombones, percussions, double bass, piano, voices, etc.  Santos, by means of video monitors, from the Portal de l’Àngel conducted the musicians who played from the balconies of the street of Portaferrissa.

Now, with Promenade Santos, we want to pay homage to the musician and poet with a street concert which gives voice and song to his spirit and to his most textual legacy, to the art with which Santos knew how to give body, space and sound to the most phonetic and performative poetry, with his personal language which was intrinsic to the body, voice and his  «putting into action». Throughout this tour, which will conclude with the baptism of the Centre d’Estudis Joan Brossa, musicians, singers, poets, artists —collaborators who were directed by Santos, as well as masters of the most flowing and experimental improvisation— will interpret his texts and scores.
