Tallers Oberts Barcelona: The thousand faces of Picasso

The Museu Picasso joins the initiative of Tallers Oberts Barcelona, a Day of Open Doors, which is a proposal of the A-FAD, the association of Artists and Craftspeople of the FAD (Fostering of Arts and Design) that invites everyone to visit the workshops and studios of the creators of Ciutat Vella, during the weekend of May 22nd, 23rd and 24th 2015.

From the museum we propose an activity that invites you to create and also to reflect on one of the major themes of the painting and work of Picasso: the portrait.

First of all we will carry out a workshop visit in which we will visit the rooms of the museum to look at two works of the author and to talk about portraits and self-portraits. Once in the workshop, we will recuperate the action of doing a portrait, an act of observation and study but also of appropriation and modification of others and of oneself. Drawing will become an emotional act of double risk: looking and being looked at, and we will be artists and models at the same time. We will use various tools that will allow us to carry out these portraits and self-portraits whatever our level of drawing is, and we will work in pairs.

Date: Friday May 22nd at 6.00pm

  • Age: from 6 to 99 years old
  • Access: Centre of Knowledge and Research, Plaça Sabartés 1
