Presentation of the book "Dora Maar, la femme invisible"

By Victoria Combalía

The presentation of the book will be given by the director of the Museu Picasso, Emmanuel Guigon, by the writer, literary critic and professor of the University of Barcelona and National History Prize-winner 2019, Anna Caballé and by the writer Victoria Combalía.

Dora Maar and Pablo Picasso met through Paul Eluard, an intimate friend of both artists. She was a prominent figure in the surrealist movement, photographer, painter and brilliant intellectual; but she ran the risk of ending up in the history books as just one of the artist's partners.

In the recovery of the memory of such an important cultural trajectory of the twentieth century, the publication of his biography, written by Victoria Combalía, historian, art critic and curator of exhibitions, played a vital role. Published in 2013 in Spanish and entitled Dora Maar, beyond Picasso, we now present the French version of this essential work.
