The Night of the Museums and the International Museum Day

Open doors day on the occasion of the celebration of The Night of the Museums and the International Museum Day, with performances of the Harlequin. Saturday 19th May from 9.00am to 1.00am.

In the Museu Picasso, our Harlequin (1917) comes to life and leaves the painting to celebrate, with the visitors and other characters from the Commedia dell’arte, this festivity of the museums and the 100 years since its donation to Barcelona, given by Pablo Picasso himself.
Performances: «The Harlequin comes out of the painting», Saturday, 18th May, at 12 noon, 1.30pm and 10.00pm. More information >

 THE NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS

There is a special night in which the museums invite you to visit them: it is the Night of the Museums. This year it coincides with the celebration of the International Museum Day and includes the opportunity to visit museums and exhibitions during the nighttime, given that a large majority of museums and heritage centres of Barcelona and throughout Catalonia will be taking part.  

 Saturday 18th May open doors until 1.00am.

INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY

The International Museum Day is a world event organised annually by the ICOM (the International Council of Museums).  This edition focuses on the new roles being played by the museums as active actors in their communities under the heading: "Museums as cultural axes: the future of traditions".

On the occasion of this celebration the Museu Picasso will be opening its doors on Saturday 18th May.
