Courses Els Juliols de la UB: "Transgression and tradition in the work of Picasso"

Picasso was a great expert in the classical techniques of artistic creation. Throughout his artistic trajectory, he used this knowledge to transgress and take it to the limit, and in this way to obtain new creative responses. Taking as a starting point the collection of the Museu Picasso, the course will explore various periods in which the innovative spirit of the artist were made evident, not only for his repercussion in the course of the history of art, but also through recent studies of conservation.

In each of the five days of the course, a first talk about various aspects of the artistic context of Picasso and his evolution as an artist will be combined with a second presentation given by the Department of Restoration and Preventive Conservation of the museum. Each session includes a visit to the galleries.

A collaboration between the Universitat de Barcelona and the Museu Picasso, Barcelona.
