On the 26th of January 2010, the last collection remaining in the former Military Museum of the Castle of Montjuïc was moved to the Museu Frederic Marès.

Frederic Marès donated this weapons collection to the Barcelona Town Hall in 1962. The entire set is made up of 269 pieces.

The collection stands out for the diversity of materials and styles, including Germanic crossbows, long guns, pistols, gunpowder boxes, helmets, shields, round shields, swords and daggers dating from the 16th to 19th centuries.
