Frederic Marès' Library-Study

This area houses a series of Frederic Marès' sculptural objects from his private library and study which the sculptor himself chose to display publicly. It was opened to the public on the 6th of June 1996 and is located on the second floor of the building. In addition to his oeuvre, the library-study also contains a series of Marès' personal effects.

The museum's holdings include a vast number of the artist's objects, primarily materials usually found in a sculpture workshop such as: plaster casts, moulds, copies and commissioned works that never materialised. This room of holdings is somehow reminiscent of the artist's own workshop, which also, when construction on the museum got underway, remained in the basement of the building.
